Buzzard Dark Ale, ABV 4.8% | | A traditional ale, deep copper red in colour, now available all year round. Reviewers comments include:
'A good winter ale. Darkly autumn coloured, hinting at the winter months to come. A restrained brown sugar sweetness is invigorated with dark luscious fruits on the prune and plum side of things. There's a delicious spanking tree bark bitterness. And the whole thing enveloped in an oaky mustiness. Brainstorming.'
'They seem to have dropped the word Old ... from the name of this beer now but no doubt it's the same beast. A deep brown beer with berry fruit. The taste is oatsy, toasty and full bodied alcohol. A very good English Strong.' Tasting NotesThe chocolate malt gives a dry nutty flavour with hints of amaretti biscuit. The finish in the mouth is dry with a smoky but smooth finish. IngredientsPale, Crystal and Chocolate malts; Goldings, Fuggles and Northdown hops. Availability |
